HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Fastprk system is based on small parking sensors installed in each parking spot which guide drivers via electronic panels. Once a car parks over a sensor, it is detected and the sensor wirelessly relay information to the gateway.
By means of the mobility software platform the central control obtains real-time analytics about parking bay occupancy per areas and times of day. The system can be linked to other existing platforms, such as any indoor parking system, for more efficient use of each parking space.
One single gateway covers and area of about 1km2. It sends information via the Internet to the database in real time. Occupied spaces are instantly reported to users via an app and illuminated panels in the street. In case a driver is connected to the automatic payment system, authorities can identify non-paying cars. By using a tablet app, parking wardens can then work more effectively.

The Fastprk2 technology will define and implement novel transport services and BI tools to provide clear benefits to local authorities, which are the primary costumers of Fastprk2.

Fastprk2 will collaborate with national administrations and policy makers to raise awareness of the importance of building more efficient parking management systems to overcome today’s transportation challenges.
At Worldsensing, we strongly support PPP (Public Private Partnership) agreements. We will work to establish ad-hoc collaborations with local authorities to solve social challenges regarding traffic and transportation.
The Fastprk2 project will have an impact on creating a robust and energy efficient parking detection network. The goal is to support authorities to detect when parking spaces are not being paid for, to ensure safer urban roads and to help create a more sustainable environment.
Considering the economic value of Fastprk2, it will boost Europes competitiveness in parking management products and services and will help place Europe at the forefront of mobility solutions.
OF SMART PARKING
Within the Fastprk2 framework a specialized software for Big Data Analytics and Business Intelligence will be developed as well as a new infrastructure to create a more comprehensive Quality of Experience model and providing a solid basis for future improvements, such as Artificial Intelligence algorithms for automatic recommendation and predictive applications.
Fastprk2 will use Deep Learning algorithms to increase smart parking prediction accuracy.
Worldsensing officially begins the pilot and validation stage for the EU-funded, next-generation smart parking project in preparation for a 2018 launch.
